DC's 75th Anniversary

89 posts in this topic

So with all the news about Warners directly taking over DC, it looks like we will get a 75th anniversary after all - but I'm not sure how healthy all the rest of the news is, especially for long time collectors.

What difference has it made? (shrug)

(tsk) Hiyo!

How about the return of NEW FUN COMICS and a LOBO movie?

(Think Crispus Allen/Spectre will return to that series?)

P.S.

I am truly not at all seeing a viable future for comics to continue to stay in printed form nor believing that the lady to head DCE will care about continuity or heritage of DC Comics' DCU library, but for a means of total exploitation to saturate the market (in all media markets platforms) with DC Comics' DCU library... to in-turn pull out a (very) large sponge to soak up whatever profits it can... no matter what damage they may or (supposively) not do.

This should be the time for Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Frank Miller, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Frank Quietly (to name a few) and all others (anyone (I do not care if you was DC Comics secretary!) whoever was ever under the banner of DC Comics' DCU) to stand up and wrestle away from WB and not allow Hollywood to swallow and consume something so pure and beautiful so it can be choked and wring to death for movie/DVD profits.

To put away their petty squabbles and rise up to fight away this evil that has come up from the depths of the underworld!

Not this day, not this day should they (or fans) laid down there arms for a suppose fantasy dream of everything will be okay and everything will be respected... DC did not rise up from ashes of those who consider there craft a cause to the evil in the world to yet kneel so easily to evaders from the depths of the underworld.

Who will rise up to wear the cape, tights, and emblem that DC Comics Superman proudly would wear... in there now desperate time of need!?

Who will step up and put on the cape and cowl of DC Comics Dark Knight of Gotham and punish those who will do harm to it!?

Where is the Commissioner Gordon and the bat-signal to signal to the world that DC Comics' final crisis has come for them!?

Where is the light to aid DC Comics through this blackest night! This evil neither hides nor cover itself, for it is right in front of our faces... we know it weaknesses and know how to defeat it!

Where is DC Comics superheroes? Will the world (and whoever has ever contribute) let this last great bastion of a comic company truly die at 75 years?

How about the return of NEW FUN COMICS and a LOBO movie?

There is no return of New Fun Comics.

Where on EARTH did you get that from ????

Probably an error. The PR stated that New Fun Comics #1 was the first DC comic published soon-to-be 75 years ago.

It was indeed. February 1935.

What made anyone think it was returning, despite the idea being awesome.
