How long before the Census has an effect...

Almost all prices were way high in 2001. Not much stuff that's as high or higher than books were in 01.

 

That's definetly true for the post-66' stuff in ultra high grade(9.6+). But there have been a few early silvers, particularly in the 9.0-9.2 levels, that would be a bargain today. I attribute this to the fact that the those issues have seen very little increase in census activity(stuff like early FF's) even at the 9.0-9.2 level. And I bet, at that time, a lot of buyers thought it would be more likely that we would be seeing more 9.0-9.2's of those early books, and less likely we would be seeing more 9.6+ of these late silvers. But the opposite has happened.
