Who coined the name "Silver Age" of comics

I'm reading the 1974 Overstreet which was his fourth, and he refers to the Flash as the start of the "Second Heroic Age of Comics" any ideas out there?

Just in case it gets lost in the other thread. I have no way of knowing if this is correct; it would be interesting to hear from collectors active at that time.

 

Comics historian and movie producer Michael Uslan traces the origin of the "Silver Age" term to the letters column of Justice League of America #42 (Feb. 1966), which went on sale December 9, 1965.[5] Letter-writer Scott Taylor of Westport, Connecticut wrote, "If you guys keep bringing back the heroes from the [1930s-1940s] Golden Age, people 20 years from now will be calling this decade the Silver Sixties!"[5] According to Uslan, the natural hierarchy of gold-silver-bronze, as in Olympic medals, took hold. "Fans immediately glommed onto this, refining it more directly into a Silver Age version of the Golden Age. Very soon, it was in our vernacular, replacing such expressions as ... 'Second Heroic Age of Comics' or 'The Modern Age' of comics. It wasn't long before dealers were ... specifying it was a Golden Age comic for sale or a Silver Age comic for sale".

Anybody could have done it...I mean once you name something as having a "Golden Age," applying the term "Silver" is the next logical metallurgical step. It's the same logical progression used to describe landmarks in historical events, anniversaries, products, sporting event medals, etc, etc, etc.

If this is accurate, it's interesting that it took 9 years after the appearance of the SA Flash to happen.
