How about the unnecessarily brutal crippling of Barbra Gordon and the "joke" Batman and the Joker share a laugh over for starters? :sick:

I'd say that the Laughing Fish is probably the best Joker story out there.

Some honorable mentions that haven't yet made it to this thread:

 

- Batman #1 has the first 2 Joker stories ever. Reprinted multiple times since then.

- Walt Simonson Joker story - Batman #321

- Alan Davis Joker/Catwoman 2-parter - Detective #569-#570

- Worlds Finest mini series from the 1980s by Dave Gibbons & Steve Rude

- Legends of the Dark Knight Annual #1

- Paul Dini's Zatanna/Joker 2-parter from Detective Comics of a year or 2 ago

 

 

I love that Dini Tec story - It was 833 and 834. Dini's other Joker story Slayride was pretty good as well.

 

Another one that is always forgot but I love is Going Sane from LotDK. Story where the Joker kills Batman and goes straight.

The # of printings has nothing to do with it. Anyone that really wants a copy wants a first printing.

 

There were PLENTY printed when it came out. Even with the hype and long wait, I remember a big pile of them sitting at my local shop for months and months.
