how did the tourny come out yesterday?

 

Things went smoothly, however it was a small tournament with only 7 teams. Jay wrestled up at 152, so he could get in with some tougher kids.

 

Jay wrestled his arch-nemesis in the finals, who he has wrestled against since the second grade. Jay wrestled a very conservative, controlled match due to the kid's catch-and-stick abilities, and came out on top 8-0. Huge psychological triumph here, since Jay hasn't won a match against him in about the last six years.

 

Our team won the tournament, which is cool, since it's the only one all year we've had a shot at winning. We had six other kids in the finals, and two of those won as well.

The coaches are talking about taking him to the Nationals at Virginia Beach at the end of March - you might be able to scout him there...., :lol:
