Hello,

I’ve never listed books for sale on the Boards before but have certainly bought a few here and dealt with many good people who are members. Figured I would give it a shot and try to avoid the usual 10% commission elsewhere. Best wishes appreciated.

1. Shipping Costs (inside US):

Shipping costs are $10 for each CGC with $2 extra for each additional CGC.

Delivery confirmation included. Shipment by USPS unless otherwise requested.

Any purchase 5K and under sent priority and over 5K sent Registered.

Outside US shipping will have to be worked out with buyer but I’m willing to try.

As a general rule, I would prefer not to make money off the shipping costs.

 

2. Insurance Costs (Required):

Standard USPS Insurance costs: ($0.01 to $50 $1.75 $50.01 to $100 $2.25 $100.01 to $200 $2.75 $200.01 to $300 $4.70 $300.01 to $400 $5.70 $400.01 to $500 $6.70 $500.01 to $600 $7.70 $600.01 to $5000 (maximum liability is $5,000) $7.70 plus $1.00 per $100 or fraction thereof over $600 in declared value. If not sent USPS, insurance still required.

 

3: Packing:

I’m OCD about packing (Hell, I’m OCD in general). All packages packed as if being sent to myself and containing glass.

 

4. Prices:

In general, I am simply trying to recoup my costs when selling (or sunk costs for when I’ve overpaid). I will be using GPA to set and explain my pricing. However, please be aware that GPA is a range with beautiful white perfectly registered books at the top and ugly tanned mis-cut books on the bottom.

 

5. Forms of Payment

I accept checks (personal, cashiers, bank, etc.), money orders, and regular Paypal.

 

6. Offer and Acceptance:

If negotiating through a private message (PM), the deal is struck when I state ‘Agreed.’ I will then post a ‘Sold by PM’ in the thread. However, any ‘I’ll take it’ posted before the ‘Sold by PM’ in the thread still trumps it even if after the agreement in the PM. Also, a conditional ‘I’ll take it’ in the thread does not count unless agreed to and is trumped by any unconditional ‘I’ll take it’ before it is agreed to.

 

7. Private Messages (PMs):

I will try to respond to all PMs in a timely manner but I work all day long, travel a lot, have a huge family, and am often simply unavailable. Please exercise the patience that I myself lack in this area.

 

8. Returns:

There are no returns accepted for CGC books. However, I will try to make sure to list certain defects that do not affect the grade but do affect the decision to purchase (date stamps, distributor ink, or any type of markings) if not immediately visible in the scan.

 

9. Probation List:

I will not sell or deal with anyone on the Probation List. Any agreement with anyone on the Probation List is null and void.

Hi Garry,

I would say that it has never been pressed by looking at it. It is also, in my opinion, the ugliest book in my selling list, bought way back in 2006 or 2007 before I knew what I was doing (and pressing became all the rage).

GPA- Prices steadily rising over time.

Not offered much, last two GPA: 15,000 (2008) and 16,730 (2010).

I remember both of those, this is much nicer.

Most recent sale 17,500 on Comiclink for a tanned ow.

[The pic of it is incredibly over-exposed to make it look nicer than it is].

No offered much, last three GPA: 6,900 (2008), 4,800 (2009), and 7,250 (2009).

The 7,250 is the Ohio Pedigree but this is much nicer.

Recent sale on Comiclink 6,766. Once again this nicer.

 

The most aggressively priced book in the thread because:

1) It's beautiful and

2) I paid a fortune for it.

Recent Comiclink sales: 1603 (also 1709 bid on a 1795 price)

 

Beautiful book but one of two books in thread that I'm going to take a bath on.

Paid GPA high for it but it's now the under-copy to my under-copy.
