Detective Comics #421 Neal Adams cover. The Batman story this issue is both written and drawn by Frank Robbins in his Milt Caniff style. Batgirl has another short story, and the reprint highlight of this issue is a short Alfred story drawn by Jerry Robinson, originally published in 1944. Detective Comics 423 Michael Kaluta draws this cover, his first-ever published Batman artwork. Inside, Frank Robbins scripts and Bob Brown & Giordano handle the artwork for the Batman story "The Most Dangerous 20 Miles in Gotham City." This issue also features the next-to-last Batgirl story for a while, as Barbara Gordon decides to run for Congress. FN slight tanning around edges

Detective Comics 437. Jim Aparo does the Golden Age-inspired cover art, as well as illustrating Archie Goodwin's Batman -script "Deathmask." This was Aparo's first Batman story outside the pages of The Brave & The Bold. The second feature is the first appearance of Manhunter by Goodwin and a young Walt Simonson. Their story "The Himilayan Incident" won the ACBA Shazam Award for best short story of the year. FN condition discoloration spots top left corner back cover $5

Framing sequence drawn by Marshall Rogers & D ick Giordano (they also did the cover) The majority of the issue is a Neal Adams reprint from Detective 408. Fine Plus condition: primary defect is the chip out at the lower left hand corner of the back cover. $3

Fine condition- wear around the edges, small creases at top right and bottom right corners. Small red ink mark on back cover.

 

Batman Family 18 Mike Kaluta cover. Batman story illustrated by Michael Golden and P. Craig Russell. Huntress solo series begins. Fine Plus condition- tiny corner creases, minor abraded corner top left.

Dynamic Classics 1 FN Foxing around the edges, particularly visible on back cover scan. Non color-breaking crease. Reprints the first Denny O'Neil / Neal Adams Batman collaboration "Secret of the Waiting Graves" from Detective Comics #395, and the first Manhunter from Detective Comics #437

Batman 229: The Asylum of the Futurians, written by Bob Kanigher and illustrated by Irv Novick & Frank Giacoia. Novick & Giacoia also handled the art for the Robin back up story, written by Mike Friedrich. Batman 230: Neal Adams "Black Panther" cover. Batman story written by Frank Robbins, Robin back-up by Mike Friedrich. Novick & Giordano provide the art for both. In VG+ condition. In addition to the front cover wear visible in the scan, the inside and back covers have very very slight foxing. You can probably see this along the upper left edge of the back cover-- the inside covers are no worse than this. (thumbs u $5

Detective Comics 424 Michael Kaluta cover. "Double Cross-Fire" is written by Frank Robbins, with art by Bob Brown and D ick Giordano. "Batgirl's Last Case" is a consequence of Barbara Gordon winning the election to Congress. The reprint hightlight is an Alex Toth Sierra Smith story. In Very Good condition: though this one presents nicely, in addition to the spine damage at the upper left corner, there is also what appears to be dried Elmers glue at several places on the back cover. (shrug) $4
