Is Acid Free the same as Archival safe?.

2 posts in this topic

I'm looking at sharpies for signatures, but I have not seen any Archival safe ones, but I do see Acid Free is that the same?

And if sharpies are not a good idea are the Sakura Pigma Micron pens better Sense many are Archival safe? (shrug)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Huh, I never really thought about it.

I would imagine acid free is about as good as you can get. I remember years ago when I learned that "acid free at time of manufacture" was not the same as "archival" because of how the bags and boards interscted with the atmosphere.

I figure any pens are safe for at least our lifetime and maybe another two or three lifetimes.
