Silver Age Marvel Western Pedigree Books & Demand

Kid Colt 130 9.8 Boston (dang it, I love Bostons)

I was the ID-E-YUT who sold that book.

Not only did I sell it, I totally FORGOT I sold it. I was setting up my Registry for that title last week and couldn't find my copy anywhere but I had my scan so I put in the serial number and it kicked it back at me saying that someone else had it.

Someone else had it??

I thought hard and had a vague memory of thinking "Why do I want to keep a book this late in the run?" so I concluded I sold it several years ago - which I clearly did. I don't even remember what I sold it for but I can assure you it was too little.

Just kill me with a shovel.

Very good research. (thumbs u

Not many pedigree books in that key 1964-65 era:

Rawhide Kid 47 9.4 Mile High II, 9.2 Mile High II

Rawhide Kid 48 9.4 Boston

Rawhide Kid 49 9.4 Boston

Two-Gun Kid 79 9.6 Boston (by calendar month)

The RK 47 9.4 is on eBay now at 3x the 9.2 guide.

I believe it to be one of the best covers of the run -- I don't think that even Sgt. Fury fought so many bad guys at one time -- with great colour, but this premium issue has some heavy oil transfer yellowing on the back cover.

Then there's also the debate as to whether a warehouse find like MH II can compare to a pedigree collection copy such as a Boston.

The RK 47 9.4 is on eBay now at 3x the 9.2 guide.

He had it on eBay for months for around $125 so I guess he figured that since no one wanted it for that price, the trick was to double the price and then people would REALLY want it.

The transfer stain on the back cover is really nasty.

Kid Colt 130 9.8 Boston (dang it, I love Bostons)

Kid Colt 146 9.6 Oakland, 9.4 Don Rosa Collection

There are Don Rosa Colllection copies of most, if not all of the rest of the run.

The Church #24 is owned by a boardie.

There are numerous high grade pre-Silver westerns, some pedigrees and some not, that are owned by a boardie. I don't believe any are slabbed.
