The London Mart Tomorrow

44 posts in this topic

Ian, gents,

"that Ewan" had family commitments on Sunday (the in-laws..) and lost a load of cash playing cards on Saturday so was doubly incontinent in terms of the Mart.

However, went to the "London Film and Comic Con" at Wembley on Saturday and was left feeling severely underwhelmed. The emphasis was very much on "Film" with the comics clearly been left out in the car-park somewhere. My vision of locating a Buzzy 70 in a pile of 90s dross was not realised.

There only about four comic dealers - and most of them selling the aforementioned dross - I was somewhat optimistically hoping for some fine examples that I could blow my cash on - I didn't - thus the visit to the Casino later...

Anyone else go? (To Wembley that is?)

A couple of friends went to the Wembley show, which clashed with the Camden one for some strange reason tongue.gif Basically the "comics" part of the event title was tagged on, and the show was smaller than expected. Even dealers who specialize in comics were focussing on toys, merchandise, statues, etc. as you said.
