Don Rosa told me that he had every comic published in America between 1948 and 1984. I don't know how he did it. He must have bought some off the stands but he is not that old. He must have scrounged around a lot, which would have been much easier than it is now, when he was a younger man or an adolescent. I don't know if he cared much about condition-- I suspect he bought them to read and collect with little care about condition.
