Derek has been running this show forever, and yes, it's a real comic show. No washed up actors or wrestlers here! lol

Just consistently good lineups of dealers with nice books from all eras. I'm always amazed how much golden age is available at this show.

Cross my fingers to be there....

Hola Todd.

Hasta,

Pablo

:hi:

Unfortunately I will miss this month's show due to a prior commitment, but I should be at the next one.

I'm going to try to drag Ciorac along too...I doubt he'll put up much of a fight. :eyeroll:

Oh I'll happily attend the next one with you! Wish I was home to go to this one, but alas I won't be back in the States until March 4th :(

another poor show for cheap books, although I did pick up a few decent things, a couple Dave Stevens covers for $1 and a high grade So Much Fun variant of JLA #217. Thanks to the dealer who brought the 4/$1 boxes, found some decent stuff in there, as well and always appreciate the chance to pick up some good deals.

Well, it may not have been great for cheap books, but it sure was awesome for attendance. Great pickups, show was jumping, loads of fun.

By the way, you know, it is true that there isn't a great $1 guy who comes to the show... wouldn't be a bad idea since Derek is getting the folks through the door now.. . hmmm

What about the guy who, a couple of times last year, was all the way in the far corner - you walked in the door, went straight, hung a right, and he had several tables all the way down on the right? I missed today's show but the couple times I went last year, he had some great 80s dollar books.

Well actually, this show is typically notoriously slow. But it can be fun, and has its peaks and valleys. Now JP who runs the Jersey shows does a very nice job promoting them. Derek has definitely done a little more advertising and the feeling I get is that there's a great deal of interest. In New Jersey, the stores that carry (reasonably) priced vintage are having it fly out the door.

The show has been slow in the past. This weekends attendance isn't typical. That's why I'm not surprised there were so few cheap books. Think about it...

If the dealer has to pay $200 for a table, they have to sell 800 quarter books just to get their money back. In reality, they are giving away 800 books just to be there. Not a very wise strategy when the crowds are small.

There was lots of good stuff in the $10 to $30 range though.
