Marvel History question

Canam and all the other publishers listed in Marvel indicias were all separately corporate identities set up by Martin Goodman and run by him He did this so that in case anybody sued one comic title they couldnt go after any of the other comics in the line. Purely a scheme to protect his investments.

so after posting this copy of JIM #91, I find this copy on the net. So why the Logo box on one and no the other. Perhaps their is an earlier issue with the logo box.

Because the second one is a recreation (IMHO), possibly by Ayers.

 

The colors look too bright and too much of a continuous tone to be printed with the 1960's four color process. Also the art is slightly different. (Look at the buildings in the background, or the little lines on the ground near the end of Thor's hammer..) It's possible that someone commisioned this and asked for the earlier "circle 12" style cover.

 

Did the web site you got this from indicate that this was from a published comic?

 

Weird how the left side of the image is curved. Almost like it was scanned from a book that wouldn't lie flat on a scanner.
