Presser's delight with all that white along the spine.

Yep.

I know very little about pressing, but I've been under the impression that glued covers on annuals prevents the spines from being pressed. Have the pressers figured this out too?

Yep.

You thinking it will come back a 10? :wishluck:

I wouldn't attempt CPR on this book. Maybe if it was 9.6, you shoot for the 9.8. 9.9/10 is a total carpshoot.

Also, aren't the squarebounds more difficult to press?

It was a joke, son. I mourn your loss of brain cells. :(

The strong ones have survived. I have no need for the ones that didn't make it.

I'm in the process of putting together a full set of ASM annuals & this one would SURE look good at the top. But, alas, there's just no way that I could afford this particular book.

When I eventually get my hands on an ASM ANNUAL #1, it'll be a lower graded copy. Hell, it pobably won't even be graded at all.

Without getting into any trade secrets, how does the presser not squish the spine or compromise the glue if pressure and heat are applied?

Very carefully. Improperly pressed squarebounds are no longer squarebound. If the spine is more "V" shaped compared to flat it was done wrong.

Just think if all this talent and ingenuity was directed toward doing good for the world!
