Having ridden through the flak of recent threads, I'm not sure if posting an open advert for restored CGC slabs is the cleverest PR move you could have made. Still, good luck with the search.

No, but some people are going to read it as - "Please sell me your PLODS (which are at a historic all time low, value wise) so I can bust them from the slabs and sell them raw and make lot's of money. Keep the trimmed ones as people can often spot that, but the very light colour touches which are harder to spot will be fine."

 

As it happens, I'm with you on this and I've seriously considered putting all my dosh into lightly restored GA. I figure I could pick up some gorgeous issues that I could never otherwise afford, enjoy them for a few years and the market for these surely has to change in the long term. I just think your timing is a little unfortunate, that's all.

I sat there and saw two copies of AF #1 PLODs go. I saw the 9.6 on comiclink go for (what was it, $16k???) and I saw one on Ebay last week in 8.5 and sold with a BIN (that I could have popped) for $4,500. I have realised that this is pure madness.

 

The only reason I didnt buy them was because of the PLOD, not the books! I have realised the error of my ways and would like to go the only way I can afford to, the PLOD way.

 

I aint no Danny Hammer, but even some of his books that he says are restored are looking much nicer now 893whatthe.gif

Here's a Green Label for sale. CGC Off White Pages with Staples replaced. No rust marks so not sure if this is even accurate but there you go. Yes it is slightly off center but it is not trimmed etc. Make an offer. Photos are pre CGC. Guess the grade. The CGC grading was accurate IMO, just not sure about the staples.

 

Plus if you de slab this one you can offer a 100% guarantee it won't get a PLOD.
