Another "must read" thread

Although this is mainly a cover-centric board here, it seems my favorite

threads are the ones that take you between the covers (BangZoom's thread,

In the Shadow of the Atomic Age, the Duck thread, and darn near any thread

that Scrooge posts in).

I like these a lot. It's like a Classics Illustrated prototype with a touch of Flash Gordon serials.

That's a great point about the Classics Illustrated prototype, tb. This is a an adaptation of A Princess of Mars. Are there any earlier original adaptations of a novel in comic book form? Large Feature 5 adapts Tarzan of the Apes, but it's a reprint of the 1929 strip. Wonderland of Oz was also being adapted in the Funnies around this time, but it's a strip reprint as well. The King of the Royal Mounted Large Feature 9 was 1940. hm

Great Stuff.... thanks,

I grew up reading Tarzan and JC of Mars... This brings back some great memories of my youth. I have mixed feelings on the movie that is comming out. I hope it does well and reintroduces a new generation to ERB's work.
