But to show how opinions very, that Yu is a great sketch but there are 5 + in this thread I would take over it.

Agreed! This one is hard. I always look at it like this.... How many of these books would I like to own. Man, a lot!

Your Clay Mann Thor (if it is the one i am thinking of (formerly Adonis's)) is one of the reasons I started collecting sketch covers.

That Matt Wagner blows me away. By far the most detailed sketch I have seen from him.

For me its a toss up between

 

Josh Medors (the detail is OUTRAGEOUS)

and

Clay Mann just bec. he added my screen name below his signature since it was done as part of one of my opps.

His threads are worth a second glance, he has so many great pieces and his style is very similar to the original work [Avengers #166, Byrne's one shot Surfer, my commission, etc].

To me it is to close to call between Mann, Medor, Jaro, & Surfers' Castrillo

 

All great sketches.

 

The Wagner & Pollard are great as well.

there are a bunch of great thors here. i think the yu was the top dog without that being in the mix im going to have to go with the medors sketch that belongs to adonis. the detail is amazing.

Toughest round of voting yet if you ask me. Even if the Yu sketch were in the running, it wouldn't be the runaway winner in this one for me (and I love me some Yu art). There are too many nice pieces from up and comers, established artists, and legends alike. Tough voting, but I've cast my ballot.

 

For me, Sinnott's work is too clean and classic to ignore and he's contributed to some of the best books of the Silver Age. Chainnball's book got my vote.
