I find it amazing that they went to 1 staple during WWII to help the war effort.

How many staples = 1 tank?

 

Awesome. I did not think about it before, but of course it makes perfect sense.

We have had some italian publication which – for example – switched from four color to two color for a single issue during the war. Also, since things were getting worse in Italy, most titles ceased publications (with the notable exceptions of the few which were less hindered by the fascist government directives).

 

So, I have seen (for example) that most of the golden age Daredevil Comics I have sport a single staple, but I seem to recall I was surprised to see a few which has two (and I am sure they weren’t re-stapled). Did you know when the staple number change occurred?
