Did you listen to the Let's Pretend radio show. I picked this one up after BZ listed it as part of his collection.

Yes, every Saturday morning.

According to Smithsonian Historical Performances, September 10, 1945 was the first

time Superman and Batman worked together as a team on radio.

Without a doubt...it was the cover that made me pick this

one up off the newsstand.

For me, this evokes reading "All in Color for a Dime" as a kid - the Boy Commandos 24 was included in the glossy color cover gallery in the middle of the book. Those were the first Golden Age covers I'd ever seen! :cloud9:

By the way, congratulations on your latest grades Marty.

Thanks!...according to Overstreet, the Boy Commandos #24 cover features

the first superhero satire.

Going through my collection I realized I have quite a few

STAR SPANGLED COMICS, 17 in total, from #53 to #105.

This one's a favorite.

I'm surprised that the utility belt story appeared in SS. There must be another one in Detective or Batman. I know I read a story about the belt in a Batman Annual and I don't think it was the same as this one.

Checked it yesterday and saw another story titled Secret of Batman's Utility Belt was published in Detective 185. It was reprinted in a giant size issue in the sixties (Batman 203). The Star Spangled story was published in 1949 and the Detective comic was published in 1952.
