well i had sent out my own comic to get cgc'd back in march, and i recieved it today. Most of the time i buy books that are already cgc'd. This is the first book of my own collection that i sent out to get graded. A good friend of mine purchased wolverine: origins #2 canadian variant (1 for 100) for me as a wedding, new house, bday gift. Which was pregraded by cgc with a 9.6.. I had already owned the same issue with the original cover so i thought it would be a neat idea to have this one graded as well to display them both. I was hoping to get the same grade as the canadian variant. I got the issue back today and it was a 8.5.. Not a big deal. It is still very cool. Least now the issue will be 8.5 forever haha, it wont get any worse. It still was a very good experiance, and i hope to send more of my own collection to get graded. At least now i know what to look for in my seems, corners etc before sending them out. thanks for reading

Congrats on getting your submission back so soon!

Sorry, though, about your grade. That's a bit of a drop from a 9.6 to a 8.5. Have you thought about ordering the grader's notes to get a more detailed look as to why it came back at that grade?

Good luck on the future submissions.

I do not understand that - I was under the assumption that the pre-screening process was basically to screen books for a fee to see if they would qualify at least as a 9.6. If the book did not qualify as at least a 9.6 then the book would go no further in the grading process, thus saving some of the money.

Am I correct here?
