restoration removal???

4 posts in this topic

hi everyone. I'm thinking about buying a professional restored book, and taking it out of it's slab for restoration removal. The book's old CGC label has it stated that the restoration includes just a small amount of professional color touch. does anyone have any experience with this?

What are the costs?

who do you recommend to go to?

Can I assume it can be removed if it's stated on the CGC slab it's professional CT?

Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance for your information!

I have seen a few example of books that had CT scraped off to get blue labels. If the CT is professionally done, it is unlikely to bleed thru the cover so it is possible for the pros to scrape off the spot.
