1.5/1.8 depending how secure the staples are.

 

Leave well enough alone. Pressing might cause more damage in the case of this book.

complete spin split. only thing holding the cover to the book is interior tape.

 

I checked the grading guide. I'll just quote it.

 

1.8-Spine Split= "Up to 2" split with major color breaks".

1.5-Spine Split= "Between 2" and 2/3 length".

1.0-Spine Split= "Up to 2/3 length".

0.5-Spine Split= "Extremely ragged or completely split".

 

 

By definition this book would be either 0.5 or 1.0, but I'll accept that the lack of other defects normally found in those grades could perhaps bump this to 1.5

 

So I'll stick with 1.0- possible 1.5
