This is a perfect example of a modern classic cover. If you can't explain why it's a classic cover than its not.

Catwoman #51

1. Lost Numbers

2. Cover has been copied, imitated & recreated outside of the hobby

3. Cover used & referenced by media (Example: MTV, CNN, Wikipedia, etc..)

4. Artwork

5. Cover used for products (Example: posters, t-shirts, prints, statues, etc..)

Again, the title of the thread is classic covers. Not which are the best covers with the most significant story, etc...

There are a number of books that are sought after solely due to the cover. I think Catwoman 51 is a perfect example of that. Adam Hughes has a ton of amazing covers, so it's significant to me that this one stands out from the rest of his catalog.

Most hot or classic books have additional significance to the hobby at large, 1st appearances, #1's, Anniversary Issues, Deaths and whatever else you want to throw in. That's not to discount the quality of the covers themselves. Most of the covers posted already I agree with, to each their own.

Let's see some more nominees!
