Umm... I'm not much of an expert on this stuff. They seemed like erotica to me. People having sex, sleeping around, lots of nudity, fantasies, large breasts, erect... things, that sort of book.

 

One is called "Secret Plot" (Volume One, yet), and the other is "Pornotopia". I'm fairly certain they're not from Harvey or Disney.

The fifth chapter of Pornotopia is one of the best written sex scenes I have ever seen... and I have seen plenty... It happens to be between two women, but the dialogue, pacing, and facial expressions are all frighteningly real. Not "real" as in "it looks like sex" but "real" as in "this is really what it would be like for these two characters"... It's done so well it leaves the reader feeling like a voyeur, because the scene in front of you seems almost too personal to watch...

 

It was the second-best-selling porn TPB at my Texas shop, behind only Bondage Fairies, and almost everyone who bought it came back and asked if the creator had done anything else. I think Joanna would agree with me that it is extremely well written... (although the first four chapters are a little strange)

That's true... Pov will have added editor's notes in the margins... "poor crosshatching in the backgrounds" ... "too many light sources" ... "inconsistent use of forced perspective" ... "change of point-of-view is too abrupt" ... "too many speed lines for such a short range of motion" tongue.gif

I agree. It was worth reading for that fifth chapter. Poignant and true to life. The rest was pretty much standard porn kinda stuff.

 

I'm not giving them away because they were bad, but because I've already read them. 'House made me write a book report. I think I got a B+.
