Possibly. An 8.0 sold recently for just below $900, but there hasn't been much else in terms of sales in that grade range for a while. Great book though and the white pages do make a difference.

Given similar (same?) copies went for $1800 and $1500 in 2006, seems like you got a deal! And this one's a real beauty.

Thank you all for the replies on this as I usually buy silver age books but this one looked so amazing for the grade that I had to have it. I was just hoping I did not overpay to much as it was really my first high priced Golden age purchase. Thank you again guys.

From the date it might be one of the last war covers, I say you paid a fair price with a book that is bound to appreciate. If you are happy you got a good deal.
