Looks minty from the front, but there's a chip on the back cover (left, about center) that drags down.

And #2... nice copy overall, I feel, but I tend to be overly harsh on dark covers. The white scuffy look on the lower right front cover is on the scanner, not the book.

8.0 for #1, really nice centering on that by the way.

 

8.5 for #2. the corners look too crunchy to me to get into the 9's, particularly the top corners with their little creases.

Agree with everyone on the #1, as I was thinking around an 8.0 Looks far better from the front, but that back chip kills the grade. Still, top to bottom centering is awesome and while still a touch miswrapped, it's at least straight... which is why I jumped on it.

 

Surprised so far by the guesses on the #2. I was thinking more like a 7.5 as all four corners are bunged a fair bit, two of them (top) with definite color breaking creases. Spine is nice, though. Maybe it's just me?

I was way off on #2 on second look. I need new glasses because I missed the top corners and all the flaws there. I think 8.5 is doable for both.

Agreed! I'm a tad surprised with the 9.2s on the #2
