I've weighed up a test package of 11 bagged and boarded modern comics (which weighs a little more than Silver Age comics) and I would package it up at under 1100 grams. If that package was to be sent to the US via Airmail Printed Papers, would cost £15.30 by my estimations.

Now you may be using a heavier box which would bring the total weight up a bit and increase cost. Also extra insurance may be required which would also add a little but we're still talking a lot less than initial estimations.

Alternatively Airsure Printed Papers could be used to gain limited tracking which would add on a bit more still.

If using one of the Printed Papers services then remember to clearly write Printed Papers in the top left hand corner of the package.

I hope that's of some help.
