"Perfect?"

The guy was in Phantom of the opera, did a kick azz job as Angier in The Prestige, played wolverine outstandingly, AND danced like a fruit in whatever that is he's dancing in. :applause: That's talent.

I feel the ''A day in the life of Judge

Dredd'' was the best way at reintroducing the movie going public to Judge Dredd.

Maybe not the best decision considering it was a flop?

Think of the movies you may be missing out on because they are missing that level of perfection you desire. There are some that really are a fun watch if you give them a chance.

though I will say I did like Fasbender's portrayal of Magneto...a lot.
The Magneto bar scene was amazing! It shows the deep hate he has for his former persecutors. And it definitely showed the tremendous difference with life views between Magneto and Xavier, where for him the ends do justify the means.

I didn't hate Dredd, I just found it a bit boring. How cool would it have been if they had done the Judge Death or Judge Child Quest stories?
Oddly enough, I just sent someone the entire Judge Child Quest series because I thought it was such a great story. But I was okay with the current movie starting the ball rolling again down the right path.
Frankly, I don't care for the freedom fighting, holocaust surviving Magneto. I prefer the character pre Claremont retcon (shrug)

Name one. I'm not going to really rag on a movie unless I've seen it. I might be a little turned off by the trailer, but I'll generally give it a chance either renting it or catching it on cable.

I agree with Bosco. X-Men 1st Class was actually an enjoyable story... I just wish it hadn't been called "X-Men."

:P

It's difficult to completely seperate it because it has the name and there are some characters running around that are semi recognizable.

The most upsetting thing about the movie for me is if they were going to do a period piece, why not just do the original X-MEN? Would that have been so terrible? (shrug)

You wanted to an example. There ya go!

This really is a good movie. If you can get past the difference in timeline of when characters entered and exited the academy, it is loads with great acting as a standalone story.

But if you can't get past that part, I can understand the challenge it may have for hardcore X-Men fans.

Like I said before, I believe this movie was based on a comic with the same name ( which I haven't read ) and is not meant to be "the" X-MEN. On that alone I would give it a pass and say the movie was OK.

RDJ was my pick for Iron Man. Christopher Reeve was the shiz-nit as Superman (bought 1-4 last year at a closing Blockbuster for $2 each - #3 wasn't good to me, Richard Prior.... ). Hugh Jackman owns Wolverine IMHO. And Patrick Stewart does a great Xavier. Loved Michael Fassbender as Magneto. So many to discuss......
