Thanks for the poll as many of the forum members are hardcore collector/sellers with too many comics. Some of which will make it thru the hallowed halls of Cgc regardless of the increase. Just have to increase the reserve or starting price of the auction to cover the fee increase.

Yeah, it's all about your margin! If you could make $$, send it in! Otherwise, keep it unslabbed. I was getting tired of the modern submitters anyways! Hopefully, the economy tier catches up soon! smile.gif

I'm new here but I would have to agree with you. It's discouraging to know how long I'll have to wait to get my books back from CGC and then see all the non-key modern crapola that has been clogging the CGC pipeline. Books that they are now selling on eBay at a loss. frown.gif

Damn, greggy - is that all you have to say to rate 5 stars with you? smile.gif Wanna throw some my way...lost 1 today. frown.gif

Sorry man...but I already gave you five stars previously. You can blame the other haters for your 1 star rating. Also, I haven't rated Mouse yet. One post is way too early...unless you start off being a jerk! mad.gif

But it does suck for those like me... I don't intend on selling my collection any time soon, if ever, so the cost of having them graded and slabed is a total loss (financially speaking) and there is no way for me to make that up.

lol......no.....I'm not a jerk. smile.gif

But I am glad I found this place. I love cgc comics and always want to learn more about them. There seems to be a TON of knowledge in these forum members. I just hope I can absorb some of it. crazy.gif

Boots--wear boots!

No, seriously I have not been here for long my self, but I have learned a great deal. There are a lot of good guys & gals here with a tremendous amount of specialized information, unless you are talking about lighthouse...he knows everything about everything....just ask him. (Just Kidding lighthouse).

As far as comics are concerned, what’s your poison?

Nice to meet you mcgowan30. I've been out of collecting for many, many years and just started to get back into it last year. Things have certainly changed in the industry since I was a kid. shocked.gif

I liked the idea of being able to buy a high grade book graded and certifed with no restoration, so I've bought some CGC books on eBay. When I was younger, I collected mostly bronze age super-hero books and some silver-age when I could afford them and get my hands on them.

Golden Age is really peaking my interest lately as well. Although I don't own any, I hope to someday have a nice mid to high grade early Action and Detective comic.....just because I think they are so cool and part of the history of comic evolution. A Mile High/Edgar Church copy of each would suit me nicely. laugh.gif

Awww. Ignore the stars. I got myself in trouble early on when I inexpertly tried to express my thoughts on collecting vs selling - lot of folks thought I was slamming dealers. Everyone (hopefully) knows good dealers are to be appreciated.

Anyway - finally got that cleared up...have been at 2 stars for the majority of my stay here - and it really doesn;t bother me. After all! You may have a real tool giving you 5 stars! Kind of like what Groucho said "Would I want to join a club that would have me as a member?") grin.gif

But this is, overall, the best comic place I have ever found on the net. Some agree. Some disagree. But most really bring passion to their responses and life without passion "is like a kiss without a squeeze" (to quote Robert Parker). grin.gifgrin.gif

I REALLY hope you are either single or have a collector spouse! And a really good retirement plan!

Yeah.....tell me about it. smile.gif I'm single....and although I certainly couldn't afford to collect mid/high grade goldenage Action or Detective comics.....I hope one day I can have a decent sample of each of them in my collection. Who knows.....maybe they'll be part of my retirement plan. I'll just buy spend a cool million on the Pay Copy of Marvel #1 and then sell it for 5 mil a few years down the road. tongue.gif
