Will Turok (Gold Keys) be getting another chance at Dark Horse????

You have $1000 to spend...

Do you get a 2014 variant of the latest incarnation of Turok in a new series...

OR

Do you get the first appearance of Turok in Four Color 596 where around $850 can probably land you a blue label 8.0 or 8.5 copy? Then you also have $150 to spend on future issues...

Just saying...

I enjoy the character, but $100 is too much for a variant from this publisher let alone $1000. Maybe I will upgrade my FC596 from a 7.0 to whatever.

buzzetta, what a distinct way to summarize how silly a $1000 variant is. I know we shouldn't put down what other people collect (What I collect is cool, what you collect sucks!), but I do have to wonder what someone is thinking if they plop down $1000 for a brand new comic variant. Please, before you do that, consider picking up the Four Color 596 first. You'll be much happier.

Yeah, I hesitated before I wrote that. However, I realized that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the character. Turok is older than Spider-man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and many other comic characters. FC596 is highly undervalued if people are willing to pick up a $1000 variant while the first appearance from '54 can be obtained in a VF for somewhat around that.
