Is that a crease across the 'G' in the word "Game" on the BC?

I looked at the G very close and saw no crease, not sure how can scan it any better, if no crease is there how would you grade book? ty dm

I am a newbie trying to learn more here.... can someone please enlighten me on what a spine tick is? and why on Earth.... it would matter so much.... seems very nit picky...on such a beautiful comic! thank you DM

It's the little white tics or bends/creases along the spine, which is real easy to see on your book because the spine is black. It's pretty much the first thing to look at to decide if your book is in the 9.6-9.8 range or the 9.0-9.2 range. (thumbs u

ok thanks then without those I would have a 9.6 then or 9.8 how many ticks can you have on a 9.6 or 9.8?

Assuming every other part of the book is near flawless, one maybe two for a 9.6, of course that's also considering the size and severity of the tic mark.

you also have to take in mind if the tick break the color or not.......

you can have one very small one on a 9.8 if the rest of the book is flawless. This is on a modern 9.8.
