My 300 is in a 9.4 slab and looks better than that. No spine ticks or anything.

 

So because of that my guess would be a 9.0

ok thanks then without those I would have a 9.6 then or 9.8

 

9.6 perhaps. It's hard to tell if it's your scanner's glass or your book on a couple spots. But the two bottom corners and the bottom edge on the back cover (BC) look a little too rough to achieve 9.8 IMHO

 

Are there finger smudges rubbing away some of the black ink halfway down the left edge?
