Marvel Preview #7 - 1st appearance in Marvel Magazine

Hulk #271 - 1st Appearance in Comic

 

Is that possible that, being "Rocky Raccon" the first story in Marvel Preview is considered a prototype of the character? Generally speaking, even stories in the magazines are first apperances, if they are within continuity. There are many examples (The Sons of the Tiger, for example).

The fact that Rocky seems to have a "double" first appearance leaves me wondering.

 

The author has stated clearly in interviews (posted somewhere on these Boards in the last couple weeks/months) that they are one and the same character.
