SHOWCASE #39 [3rd Metal Men]

 

GD copy. Structurally, this book is tight. Could be a VG+, maybe even a VG/F. Its problem is a discoloration (smoke damage?) alongside the left edge and spine of the cover. Other than that, just moderate spine and edge wear.

SHOWCASE #40

 

Another early Metal Men with symptoms of smoke damage. The damage isn't as pronounced here, but it presents more like soiling instead of defect. We'll call it a GD copy because of the issues, but it's another book that is structurally tighter than that if you can get past the damage.

Here's a very soon to be red hot book...

 

ADVENTURE COMICS #283 [1st Phantom Zone, General Zod]

 

I'm going to conservatively call this a VG. Overall, the front cover is very clean with minor gloss still left. Slight edge and spine wear. A couple of chips. Some foxing on the interior of the covers. Back cover has a stain along the bottom edge, some chipping, edge wear, minor fraying, and a few small tears. Biggest problem is a small tear along the back left edge that digs into roughly the second half of the interior. But it's attached at both staples and presents much nicer than a typical VG from the front. I'll put up a back cover scan on this one as well.

SUPER FRIENDS #7 [1st Wonder Twins]

 

Oddly, this book can sometimes be a struggle to find. This one's around a VG-. Large crease bottom right of the front cover knocks it down. Minor spine and edge wear.

G/VG copy. Moderate spine and edge wear. A couple small chips and tears along top edge of front cover. Several minor, small tears on back cover. Small piece out of back cover near spine. A couple of creases. Pencil marking on first page. Still a structurally tight book.
