Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

 

One bit I forgot to add in is that the Avengers #1 cost $80. Things were different in the 80's, what can I say. I managed to put together a complete run of Avengers before I finished high school, just on my small allowance. And we were not a well to do family. But the most I myself paid for any issue of Avengers was $33 for a high grade #12. Almost every issue in the entire run I got for $10 or less, there were probably less than a dozen issues that cost me more than that.

 

Amazing how much things have gone up in value since then.

Great list Crimebuster, and I love the story on your Avengers 1. I can definitely see why it tops your list. That's cool that it came back graded with a Universal Blue label too instead of a Green Qualified label. What an amazing deal on that beauty, even for the eighties!
