In Italy, these are pop culture as much as Spider-Man or Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. We have had the majority of the 1970s anime TV shows aired.ù

 

They started with Grendizer in 1978 (I know has been partially aired in certain US states in 1985), and recovered Mazinger Z (which is from 1972) afterwards.

The female robot is called Aphrodite A (Afrodite A) in Italian. Each Go Nagai Mazinga series had a female robot. All (including Devilman and all his other creation) was mixed and matched in the adult 1990s manga "Mazinsaga", which is a series left incomplete.
