Some help on a price

Hi,

I am certainly no expert on artwork, but this was in a collection I happened to buy. Can you give me an idea on value?

Its a pretty cool page with Iron Man in each frame...

Thanks,

Steve

There is tanning on the back...

You might want to explore the archive at Heritage Auctions. Once you sign-up and get an id, you can search for piece from that run and see what they have sold for.

if you want more data, join the Comic Art Fans site, pay for Market Data access, and access eBay and other auction sites as well as Heritage.

Finally, you can search current dealer sites. There is a list of dealers on this board and the Dragonberry site has a list as well.

Thanks for the info, I am an active member of heritage but will check out the other sites

Nice bonus - I am not expert on this but I'd expect to see it go for $500 - 800 on eBay

Based on offers I already received that is a low assumption :)

depending on the overall condition, ( I can't tell if that piece is wavy ) I'd expect a floor of $750-850 and a max of $1250-1300.

It's a little later than the prime period for Romita/Layton Iron Man but that's a lot of Iron Man on the page.

Bear in mind also that Iron Man is in his 'space armour' rather than the traditional suit. I'd expect that to lower the value next to a comparable regular costume piece.

I think if you get a $750-$800 offer on this you should grab it, with the flaws mentioned . Sal Buscema and Layton are not really A list.

The credits for 144 are listed as Romita Jr. (layouts) and Layton (finishes).

Is that incorrect?

That's true. Given what I sold a Tony Stark piece with no Iron Man on it, the market has moved pretty well on these.
