These were the two I have read. Are there better stories?

Those are just crossovers. You haven't actually read an issue of the main title yet.

 

As for those two, I thought Planetary/Batman was phenomenal, but it's more of a Batman story than it really is a Planetary story. I do love it as a Batman story. It REALLY helps to be familiar with the many "faces" of Batman through the years. With that knowledge it's a real treat to see Cassaday and Ellis pay homage to a lot of great creators.

 

I wasn't a huge fan of Planetary/JLA. That's more like an Elseworlds story anyway- since that's obviously not the regular JLA and it's not the in-continuity Planetary either. That said, the framework for this story is not "Elseworlds" but an in-continuity parallel universe.
