Always like seeing positive threads like this pop back up.

 

I too miss Hector. You could always count on his entertaining posts/replies. I wonder what ever happened to that Stephen Colbert CGC book that he donated to be shipped around the world?

I remember years ago I was watching a baseball game on TV. In between innings, they brought out a family to surprise them with something. It turns out this was Hector's family. Out steps the surprise...Hector in full military uniform back from deployment. What a nice moment. It caught me a little off guard as I wasn't expecting to see someone I know, but it was definitely him. It was cool they showed that bit on TV.

I see this from time to time. I've always thought that they should do that at least once a week at baseball games. Make it Military Mondays or something, with discounts for servicemembers and/or vets and couple it with honoring a military member at the game during one of the inning breaks. I don't think there's anyone that ISN'T good for. You honor our armed forces, get more people going to Monday games, and if my math is correct, most service members don't mind having a beer or two at sporting events (which is where the real profit is anyways).

 

But make it a THING across the MLB , so even when service members are traveling or move to a new city, they KNOW they can go to any baseball game and be shown a little love.
