Bongo was great when it parodied comics. Some of the funniest since the early MAD.

 

While not exactly a swipe, this one has always made me laugh...

No.. I was aware of that, but he is still a consultant behind his projects and I believe the cover homages were probably due to his influence or instruction. he was/is a comic nut.

 

I saw the original animated shorts at a animation festival...very rough... the festival was just around the time they were first shown on the TU show.
