Superman month at my LCS... what coppers to look for?

All Superman titles are buy one get one free of equal or less value during February.

Any price -- not just the bargain titles.

 

Yesterday I pulled Man of Steel 1 & 18 for $2.50 total.

Already picked up Superman 1, 75.

 

So what others should I be looking for? MOS 17 perhaps?

The honey hole is Vintage Stock -- three locations in St. Louis and several in Kansas City. They are a general store that do not specialize in comics. They usually go by Overstreet and are about two years behind the current trends per back issues.

 

So in the last two weeks I found X-Factor 24, Captain America 360, AS 344, MOS 18

in NM for about a buck apiece.

 

And when someone brings in a big vintage collection they price it to sell. Hallelujah.

the following five books for $8 since it's Superman month...

Action 684 x 3

If you find a copy of Action Comics 869 pick it up and look at the cover. If the bottle on the cover says "soda pop" on it, put it back down. If the bottle has a crow on it then buy it.

Ok, I was trying to decide which ones to pick up at my comic shop today so played safe, really safe since it was 2 for 1 on all back issues. What are the best prints to look for on the entire Doomsdays series or funeral for a friend?

 

I know there has been talk some of the 2nd,3rd, 4th, and even 5th prints are worth more.

 

so should I buy all of certain issues even if they are first prints? ( I know MOS 18 which is a given at this point)

I found the following last week at bargain bin prices:

 

Man of Steel - 17,18,19 (all 1st)

Action Comics - 384 (1st)

Superman 74 (1st, 4th) & 75 (1st, 4th, News)

 

I had to go three stores to get them but found them all.

 

No luck with the DC Comics presents issues mentioned earlier in the thread.

 

I think I saw Action 583 but didn't pick it up -- mistake on my part based on what I just

Superman month continues at my LCS, and the honey

hole keeps on producing.

 

Today I got the following for $3.50 total:

 

JLA 69 - 1st

JLA 69 - 2nd

MOS 18 - 3rd

Superman 75 - 4th

Adv of Superman 497 - 2nd

 

The funny thing is that they just don't know. They could put five

more MOS 18 in the dollar bin tomorrow and they'd still be $1.00 each.

 

So I go there often.
