Buying stuff on Craigslist - What do you guys do to be safe?

I troll the Craiglist comic ads all the time with great effect. Faint-hearts stay home and leave the goodies to those who dare.

For low dollar transactions, I'm never too concerned so I'll bring cash (in separate pockets like someone else suggested for negotiating purposes not safety). For larger deals, I always ask before the meet up if they'll take paypal. If not, then I make it clear that I'm not bringing cash but will go to ATM once the deal is struck.

Agree with all other suggestions about letting someone else know the time and place. I don't like to bring someone else with me for comics b/c it can put some people off.

bring your lap top/ smart phone etc and if you work out a deal paypal personal for payment avoids any need for any cash, unless they rob you of your laptop/smart phone......but make sure your spouse knows where you are. or bring a friend
