OA and restoration

Cross posting as while I got some good replies in the art section it would love to hear some more opinions.

 

Hey guys I am starting to branch out into OA and was wondering what the OA collecting community's position on restoration is?

 

Is it similar to the poster market where minor restorative work on creases and folds is acceptable?

 

I had been contemplating buying a piece with some water stains that look like they could be removed with a bath (not sure if the same process applicable to printed material is also applicable to OA, as I imagine the inks on original work would be more solvent???) and was wondering how resale would be affected by such a procedure?
