I have great difficulty with these black covers - any help is appreciated.

Please note that the LRBC does not have a tear or bad fraying, that white line is backing board particulate, not a defect.

Front top left corner soft

Front center spine area two decent color breaking creases

Back center 3 color breaking creases

Looks like some shelf wear on book a little too

 

I'd say ball park 9.4

I can see the very small tear on the back bottom corner, but I'm not sure what the long white mark is. It looks brighter and sharper than the other tear.

 

If it's not a tear or defect, I'd say 9.4, but maybe even 9.2

If it is a defect... IDK, maybe 8.0

I admit I'm not too up to date on Modern CGC.
