2003 - brigth idea - sell the bulk of my bronze and copper age collection on this new thing called eBay and keep one short box of ASM gems... queue the regret melody...

As a preteen in the mid-80's I collected some back issues but mostly current issues off the rack across X-Men, X-Factor, PPSM, WOSM, ASM, Marvel Tales, Avengers, Captain America, Star Wars and Batman titles.

It was a small collection as as a 11-14 year old I could only afford 10 bucks a week on average. But I had my pull list and my weekly pickups just the same...

I won't bore you with the emotional details of my first comic shop experience, my compulsive collection management, the pleasures of sorting and resorting my collection, the donation and subsequent reclaiming of my collection in 1986 (maybe I will post that one later), and the eventual collecting dormancy which took full hold in 1990 or so.

Along the way during this period, I did make a few back issue purchases but they were sporadic and never really focused. you will hear about some of them in subsequent journals as they survived the 2003 sell off, or what inow

Fast forward to 2003 - business school expenses and this thing called eBay... I ravaged myself (for the second time) but at least I had the where withal to hold my ASMs...

What survived, and what I am working to reclaim is for the next journal... stay tuned.
