I will be taking requests for NYCC. There is plenty of time for anyone to be able to mail me books and/or requests sketches. The deadline for me to have books in hand is 72 hours prior to the show.

 

If you are dropping off books in person I will be at Table L5 and L6 in artist alley. Ill be there with Clay and Seth Mann just stop by and ask for Doug.

The fee for a sketch is $75 for a cgc book plus the artist cost. This includes a blank, my pick up fee, cgc fast track and return shipping.

Creator Sigs:

 

 

For creator sigs subbed on your cgc account its $5 per sig. You pay all creator fees.

 

If you do not have a CGC account and want to sub under my CGC account for the 1st book it's $55 for the 1st sig + $5 for each additional sig beyond the 1st. (you pay any creator fees) The $55 fee covers my fees for one signature, shipping, and Cgc fast track

 

For every book after the 1st it's $45 for the 1st signature + $5 for each additional sig (you pay any creator fees). The $45 fee covers my fees for one signature, cgc fast track and return shipping.

I can take items other than comics. If you have posters, photos, toys, or books feel free to send those in as well. The fee is the same $25 no matter the item. CGC will also encase and Signature Series a Photo.

 

So if you have a CGC account its $25 a signature for you plus $25 for each extra celeb sig. You pay all celeb fees.

 

If you dont have a CGC account and need to sub under mine its $75 for the 1st book + $25 per additional celeb sig (you pay all celeb fees). The $75 fee covers my fee for one signature, cgc fast track and return shipping.

 

For each additional book you sub on my account after the 1st it's $65 for the 1st signature + $25 per additional celeb sig (you pay any celeb fees). The $65 fee covers my fee for one signature, cgc fast track and return shipping.

 

 

 

The show dates are Oct 9-12th. I need books and payment no later than the deadlines above.

 

 

 

Please note that CGC is no longer posting CGC SS forms on the website for print off. If subbing on your own account you must have a prefilled out form with your books. If you do not have carbon forms please call cgc and ask for them to be sent to you.

 

If you do not want to do that you can pay a $10 fee for me to fill out a form for you with your account info. You will need to put your name account# and address on the back of the books along with the phrase "fill out new cgc paperwork".

 

 

I can crack a slab its $5 for these shows I do not promise that a slab will retain the same grade. However out of the recent signing with Alex Ross we had over 300 books and around 50 slabs. Of the 50 slabs cracked 2 came back higher grades 47 came back the same and 1 came back lower.

 

All books mailed to me must be prepped as seen in the How to Prep your Books Thread . Any book not prepped will be prepped for $5 for these shows that book. All books must include the owners name, dealer account (if subbing on own account) and the creator/celeb you want to sign it.

Ill be seeing the Kuberts to pick up some art and they have agreed to sign a couple books while we make the trip.

 

A big thanks to Andy for agreeing to take care of this for us. I suggest everyone take advantage of this even other facilitators. As I am more than happy to let you sub on your own accounts.

 

 

The books will be hand carried from my house to NYC. At that point I will meet Andy at his office where they will be signed and dropped off with CGC the next day. Completely 100% insured along the way.

Bio:

Andy Kubert is an American comic book artist, son of Joe Kubert, and brother of Adam Kubert, both of whom are also artists. He is a graduate of and an instructor of second-year classes at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, founded by his father (who also teaches there). He also has a son, Jay, who is in 5th grade.

 

While Kubert started at DC Comics, drawing Adam Strange and the Batman vs. Predator crossover, he is probably best known for his work at Marvel Comics, specifically the company's X-Men titles. An occasional cover artist on Uncanny X-Men (drawing the first cover appearance of the character Gambit) and X-Men Classic, Kubert later served as a fill-in penciller for Uncanny X-Men #279-280 and #288 before becoming the regular penciller on X-Men vol. 2 (starting with #14), following Jim Lee's departure from Marvel to form Image Comics.

 

Both Adam and his brother, Andy, signed exclusive contracts to work for DC Comics in 2005. This came as somewhat of a shock to the industry as both the Kuberts (along with John Romita, Jr.) were known to be Marvel Comics' stalwarts, and the Kubert family was well known for its company loyalty. When Valiant Comics attempted to lure the two brothers from Marvel in 1994, they both refused, instead opting to keep their home at Marvel Comics.

 

In a Wizard interview, the brothers made clear that they held no animosity for Marvel, but instead were excited for the chance to work on DC titles for a change.

Finally the Kubert Brothers will be doing a sketch opp for NYCC. The books will be dropped off when I visit them and then mailed to CGC. They will be done in the studio not at the show or any con.
