I cried when they cancelled Epic. Epic Illustrated was a beautiful run. I discovered the magazine at a time when I was just old enough to begin appreciating the material. Then I was gulping down everything I could get of King, Asimov, Bradbury and Ellison.

 

I'll always remember it fondly. "Run for the Stars", an Ellison adaptation by Ken Steacy, I will never forget.

 

A dream died with Epic.

 

And yes I've been drinking.

 

I was just going to take this after reading the above, but once again do slow.

I read Moorcock's Elric saga also, I got it through my membership in the Sci-Fi book club. Unfortunately I don't have any of those left, I cannot even remember where they went.

 

Thankfully I still have some of my OO Epics.

 

I also lost my first edition Frank Herbert Dune books, but that's more beer and tears...

 

God Emperor of Dune, the 4th book in the series, was a masterpiece.
