DC big five war, no Italian army?

Remember that the Italians were more or less "conscripted" by the Germans, who were of course the lead Axis power in Europe.

I am not sure that this gives the right impression. Italy under Mussolini was a fascist state. Italy was one of the axis powers. German troops were sent to North Africa to support the Italians when their invasion of Ethiopia wasn't working as planned.

As I had posted, Hungary, Romania, & Bulgaria were also part of the Axis, but for purposes of answering the OP, it seems that only the Germans are normally seen as the heavies in comics depicting the European war theater.

Remember also, the Italians overthrew Mussolini in '43, and surrendered to the allies shortly afterward. Once they did that, the Germans were merciless toward them, and administered brutal treatment.

Well thank you , that just about answers everything !!!!!
