CONAN THE BARBARIAN # 1 - # 24 CGCED ON EBAY

24 posts in this topic

Also, how many pre-screen orders did you submit--two? The tough thing about the Conan 25 to 75 range is that a bunch of those fall into the "economy" tier (~$24) since they're before 1975, whereas others fall into the "Modern" tier (~$15). Did you just submit them all under "economy"?

At some point in time, it seems that CGC should slip the Modern tier back to 1970. There are tons of nice BA books from 1970-1974 that aren't worth getting graded unless they are 9.6's or better, but a nice 9.4 would be worth having certified (just not at $25 a pop, when the book will only net $40 or so.).

Yep. I sent about 30 issues from between #25 - #75 to CGC in a big 9.4 pre-screen order.

Is that really worth it? I've got a bunch of Conans in that range as well, but I figure anything from #30 up is only worth slabbing at the 9.6 level or better.

I submitted 50 books in the modern tier pre-screen. Conan #46 starts the modern (1975) CGC tier. There were only about 30 or so Conan's in the lot of 50. The rest were other moderns from the late 70's.

I also submitted several Conan's from #25 - #45 for standard grading.

I agree entirely. I've got a few stacks of 9.4 books from around 1972 to 1974 I'm not submitting for the exact reason you describe--doesn't make financial sense to slab them.
