FF 48 Faded or color printing glitch

9 posts in this topic

OK here is a copy of FF 48 that has me scratching my head, At first glance I thought fading, but after looking at the book the color just looks off. The green Marvel box is blue( would it fade to blue?) NO spotting but a solid uniform blue. The color inside the lettering is off,(yellow to white) but the borders of the lettering are solid black. Would not the black have faded too? The book has almost 100% gloss. Any Ideas,Could this be a printing problem(low inks etc.?) img] <img src=[/img]

It's faded. "Galactus" should be as yellow as the bottom. The bottom isn't uniformly yellow because the very edge was covered while the rest of the book was exposed. "Fantastic Four," CCA, issue number box et. al. should be white; they look brown from the sun-toasting it received.

It seems just the yellow has faded, the other dark colors did not, the characters almost seem to have full color, Torch and thing and other characters on the cover seem to have retained color. Have seen fading before but this just seems weird.

It's faded, yellow is always the first color to go and black gets more prominent. Blacks never fade BTW.

And as a grade, a comic with this type of fading could not get higher than a 4.0. CGC outlined this "faded comic policy" in another thread. I have a faded NM-condition X-Men 94 in a CGC 4.0 slab as proof.
